• John Griffin, author of a commentary that appeared yesterday, is a former editor of The Advertiser's editorial pages. He was misidentified in the byline in a commentary and its sidebar piece in yesterday's Opinion section.

• A photo caption with a commentary posted yesterday misstated the timing of a speech by Corazon Aquino, former president of the Philippines. The photograph showed Aquino speaking at a July 14 event.
