Island Air to expand service

Island Air on Aug. 16 will begin offering service to the Big Island with five daily flights each between Honolulu and Hilo, and Kahalui and Hilo.
The airline, which operates five, 37-seat de Havilland Dash-8 aircraft, will add two more planes to its fleet in early August as part of the expansion. With the expanded service, Island Air will offer about 70 daily flights to Hilo, Honolulu, Moloka'i, Lana'i, Kapalua, Kahului and Kona. Island Air plans to add flights between Lihu'e and Kahului, and Lihu'e and Honolulu by the end of the year.
