EDITH K. KLEINJANS, an educator who helped develop curriculum and teaching methods for Hawai'i schools, died July 25 in her Hawai'i Kai home. She was 80. See story.

A. JAMES "JIM" WRISTON III, vice president/director of real estate for Ka'anapali Development Corp., died Sunday at Maui Memorial Medical Center after suffering a brain aneurysm, according to company officials. He was 48. See story.

SAMUEL APIU AKUNA, 79, of Holualoa, Hawai'i, died July 19, 2004. Born in Pa'ia, Maui. A waste management technician for the federal government.
