Bank robbery suspect sought

Police today were seeking a man they believe is a suspect in two bank robberies committed within one week.

The man, described as having a bushy haircut and wearing a black T-shirt and jeans, is being sought in connection with yesterday's robbery of City Bank's Kane'ohe branch and the May 26 holdup of the American Savings Kalihi branch.

He was described as having a tan complexion, being 5 feet 9 and weighing 190 to 210 pounds.

In yesterday's robbery, a man demanded money from a teller and fled with an undisclosed amount. He was seen getting into the passenger seat of an older model white Ford truck with a blue stripe, driven by an another man toward Kane'ohe.

Anyone with information about this case should call Detective Brian Johnson at 692-4602. Anonymous calls are taken by CrimeStoppers at 955-8300, or *CRIME on a cellular phone.

Nightclub attack witnesses sought

Witnesses are being sought for information about an assault Sunday at the Pipeline nightclub. The attack left the female victim hospitalized with serious head injuries.

Police said a man hit the woman on the head while she had her back turned but had no other details. Anonymous calls may be made to CrimeStoppers at 955-8300; free calls can be made by dialing *CRIME on a cellular phone.

Police seeking suspect in scam

Police were asking for the public's help in finding a fugitive sought in connection with a California case in which an elderly couple was defrauded of about $20,000.

Efram Miller

Efram "Pudgy" Miller, also known as Louie Clark or Ephriem Mario Miller, is wanted by the California Department of Public Safety on a grand-theft indictment in connection with a home-repair scam.

His brother, Sam, was indicted last year in the same case, said Detective Letha DeCaires, and is under arrest in San Francisco.

The Millers allegedly took the money from a couple for home and roof repairs, but the work performed ended up ruining the home, DeCaires said.

Efram Miller, 40, frequents Hawai'i and is believed to be on O'ahu, police said.

He is described as being 5 feet 6 and 150 pounds. Police said he has a medium build, dark brown hair, brown eyes and a mustache.
