Hawai'i's "American Idol" Jasmine Trias has accomplished a lot this year, and last night the 17-year-old added another achievement to that list: high school graduate.

Trias and about 140 classmates at Maryknoll School received their diplomas last night during commencement exercises at the Blaisdell Concert Hall.
Jasmine Trias was one of 140 Maryknoll School graduates to receive congratulations at Blaisdell Center last evening.
She received no special treatment during the program, but school officials set up a special area just outside the concert hall for Trias to meet with family and other well-wishers. The school hired five special-duty police officers to provide security.
Trias was greeted with shrieks and cheers from fans. In return, she accepted lei, signed autographs and posed for pictures.
"So many big things have been happening in my life," Trias said. "Graduation is a big thing for me and 'American Idol' is a huge thing for me, I mean it changed my life completely."
Trias said she had been away from home for so long that she was looking forward to spending time with her classmates one last time. After last night's ceremony, Trias boarded one of three buses that took the new graduates to their "Project Graduation" celebration.
As far as college is concerned, "I'm trying to work out college and things for my career at the same time, so I'm going to see what happens with that," she said.
