AUGIE COLON, percussionist and the voice behind the exotic, jungle sounds of Martin Denny's 1956 hit song, "Quiet Village," died Friday in Honolulu. He was 76. See story.

CONCHITA LUTAO LAPEZ, 89, of Honolulu, died May 23, 2004. Born in Makaweli, Kaua'i, Camp IV. Survived by son, John; daughter, Claire Ann William; brothers, Domingo, Mansueto and Salvador; nine grandchildren; great-grandchild. Visitation 9:30 to 11 a.m. Friday at Borthwick Mortuary, Honolulu. Memorial service 10 a.m. Saturday at Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses, Kekaha, Kaua'i; inurnment to follow at Hanapepe Cemetery. Casual attire.

SHIZUE NOMURA, 87, of Waipahu, died May 29, 2004. Born in Honolulu. Retired supervisor for Dole Cannery. Survived by daughter, Janice Nomura-Yee; grandson, Jetson. Visitation 5 p.m. Friday at Hosoi Garden Mortuary. Casual attire.

JAMES U. ROBERTSON, 88, of Honolulu, died June 1, 2004. Born in Canora, Saskatchewan, Canada. Retired aircraft engineer for Hawaiian Airlines with 39 years of service. Survived by wife, Josephine; sons, Michael, Donald and Frank; three grandchildren; great-grandchild. Visitation 9 a.m. Thursday at Mililani Downtown. Mortuary; service 10:30 a.m. Burial 1:30 p.m. at Mililani Memorial Park. Aloha attire.
