Roland Cloutier

He first came to Hawai'i with the Navy in 1949 and later started his own television and radio show on KGU titled "Just Kids."

The show was essentially a children's party that featured games, stunts, and prizes.

The show was picked up by KCAL-TV in Los Angeles during the 1950s.

He began his career in radio in Boston and worked with the Navy on movie production and radio shows.

Before joining KGU in 1953, Cloutier acted, announced, and produced radio shows in New England and the northwestern United States.

Following his entertainment career, Cloutier owned his own real-estate company.

For the past decade, he was bedridden, the effect of more than 20 years living with multiple sclerosis.

"He was well known in Hawai'i for his TV show and his four kids running around Kane'ohe," said his son, Ron Cloutier.

He said he and his brothers were born and raised in Kane'ohe.

Roland Cloutier is survived by his wife, Norma, and by sons, Robert and Lawrence both of Las Vegas and Ronald of Kane'ohe.

He had 14 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his brother Paul of Texas.
