ISLAND LIFE SHORTS
'Shrek 3' planned for Christmas 2006

Advertiser Staff and News Services

With the box office green for "Shrek 2," DreamWorks is scrambling to put "Shrek 3" on a faster track, reports Variety.com. A Christmas 2006 release date is anticipated. The studio has hired Peter Seaman and Jeffrey Price (who collaborated on "How the Grinch Stole Christmas") to write the third installment, in which the beloved ogre will contend with King Arthur and the Knights of the Round Table. Let's assume Mike Myers, Cameron Diaz and Eddie Murphy will be back, with paychecks exceeding the $5 million apiece each got for "Shrek 2."

Wanted: Images of the past

How deep is your photo album? If it goes back to the territorial years, a photo of favorite scenes from the 1920s to 1960s could score you a pair of tickets to the Hawai'i International Jazz Festival on July 30 or July 31. It's all part of this year's festival theme, Swingtime in Hawai'i. E-mail photo to aewjazz1@aol.com, or snail-mail them to the jazz festival: P.O. Box 37725, Honolulu, HI 96837. Information: 941-9974.
