Windward grads win new cars

Two Windward high school graduates have each won a $10,000 car for attending their Project Grad party. Chantel Bardsley-Marcial, 18, of Kalaheo High School took home a 2002 Mazda Protege and Jeremy James, 17, of Kahuku High School received a 2001 Ford Escort ZX2.

The cars were donated by Mike McKenna, who owns auto dealerships on O'ahu and the Big Island. McKenna has been offering the cars to Project Grad parties at the four Windward high schools and Kealakehe High School for 11 years. To qualify, party attendance must be 95 percent of the graduating class.
