What's open, closed Kamehameha Day

 •  Big Island events to honor king on holiday weekend

Here's what will be open or closed on Kamehameha Day, which will be observed tomorrow.

GOVERNMENT

  • Federal offices: closed for the national funeral of former President Ronald Reagan.
  • State offices: closed
  • City, county offices: closed

SCHOOLS

  • UH: no classes; offices closed; Hamilton and Sinclair libraries closed.

PUBLIC SERVICES

  • Libraries: closed
  • TheBus: state holiday schedule. Call 848-5555.
  • On-street parking: free, except for metered Kalakaua Avenue spaces near Kapi'olani Park; holiday tow-away parking as permitted by sign; municipal lot meters must be fed.
  • Traffic: no coning
  • Trash: regular residential and business pickup
  • Landfills and convenience centers: open
  • Open markets: not operating
