Rap Reiplinger special to air in prime time

Advertiser Staff

"Rap's Hawai'i," a vintage comedy special featuring the many faces and characters of the late Rap Reiplinger, receives a prime-time airing at 7 tonight on KGMB-9.

Reiplinger, a member of the pivotal Booga Booga comedy troupe, originated a roster of still-imitated characters including tipsy cooking-show hostess Auntie Marialani, the flighty attendant on Mahalo Airlines and the room-service hotel guest who encounters the challenging Russell.

The slot became available because Ronald Reagan funeral coverage pre-empted normal programming and left some time periods unfilled.
