ISLAND LIFE SHORTS
Rockin' out with fun summer reading

Advertiser Staff

Rockin' in the free ... library?

If you think that's got a nice ring to it, check out Teens Rock @ Your Library, a free statewide program beginning today at all 50 public libraries. For younger kids, the Children's Summer Reading Program, under the banner of "Readiculous!" will focus on silly stories.

Preschoolers to recent high school grads are encouraged to visit the libraries, earning incentives (such as stickers, stationery and snacks) while supplies last. Watch for special programs and performers. Information: 831-6878.

We want to know how it happened

Calling all newlyweds: We want to tell your love stories.

Each week, relationships writer Tanya Bricking Leach looks for couples to profile in the "Love Stories" feature on the Sunday 'Ohana page in the Island Life section. You could be the next to tell a tale worth saving for your scrapbook.

Write tbricking@honoluluadvertiser.com; phone 525-8026; or snail-mail "Love Stories," The Advertiser, P.O. Box 3110, Honolulu, HI 96802.

Tonouchi has promised to credit whoever submits a pidgin word and definition with the entry, and he's received many. He now has a few definitions that even he had never heard before.
