He's a divorce lawyer. He's a lecturer on cruise ships. Now Bradley Coates, managing partner of Coates & Frey (the largest divorce law firm in Hawai'i), has released the second edition of his how-to guide "Divorce with Decency," (University of Hawai'i Press, $19.95). The first edition won the Hawai'i Book Publishers Award of Merit for best guide and reference book. This one contains oodles more information on psychological and sociological issues surrounding marriage and divorce.

Hear him on morning drive-time radio (6:30 to 7:30 a.m.) as a "relationships expert" today and most Tuesdays on KQMQ 93.1 FM.

Movie star mahalo

There was a little aloha at the 2004 MTV Movie Awards, broadcast Sunday night.

Quirky duo Drew Barrymore and Adam Sandler, stars of "50 First Dates," gave Hawai'i props after accepting the prestigious bucket o' popcorn award for Best on-Screen Team.

The couple thanked "all the people of Hawai'i," and also gushed about the Islands' sunrises, sunsets and puka shells.

"50 First Dates" was filmed on O'ahu last year and featured various Island backdrops, including Sea Life Park.

'Harry' tops heap

"Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban" fended off three newcomers to make approximately $35 million at the box office, a 63 percent drop from its opening weekend, according to estimates by Exhibitor Relations. The film has made $158 million domestically.

Harry's major competitor, "Shrek 2,"earned $24 million for third place. The sci-fi adventure "The Chronicles of Riddick," the comedic remake "The Stepford Wives" and the CGI-animated "Garfield" all debuted this week to come in second ($24.6 million), fourth ($22.2 million) and fifth ($21.7 million), respectively.
