Robber may have hit earlier

Advertiser Staff

A man who robbed the Mo'ili'ili branch of Central Pacific Bank yesterday may be the same person who robbed two other banks in the past three weeks.

Police said the man handed a note demanding money to a teller yesterday at about 11:30 a.m. After being given an undetermined amount of money, the man left in a Nissan or Toyota driven by another man and was last seen heading toward the freeway on South King Street and Kahuna Lane, police said.

The man is suspected of robbing the Kalihi branch of American Savings Bank on May 26 and the Kane'ohe branch of City Bank on June 1.

The suspect is in his late 20s or early 30s, 5 feet 8, 220 to 240 pounds, with black frizzy shoulder-length hair and a tan complexion.

Anyone with information about these robberies should call Robbery Detail Det. Derrick Kiyotoki at 529-3436, or CrimeStoppers at 955-8300 or *CRIME on a cellular telephone.
