WAILUKU, Maui — Maui Memorial Medical Center has announced three new executive appointments. Wesley Lo, now chief operations officer, will assume the post of interim chief executive officer July 1, while a search for a permanent CEO continues, according to an announcement from Hawai'i Health Systems Corp.

Lo is a former county finance director.

Karen Oura has been promoted from chief nurse executive to chief clinical executive. The Maui-born Oura will oversee all clinical departments, including nursing, surgical services, pharmacy, laboratory, imaging, dietary, and case managers. She has been with the organization for 22 years, and is also a flight nurse for Hawai'i Air Ambulance.

Another Maui native, former Maui News publisher Patrick Saka, has been appointed chief financial officer. He also holds leadership positions in Maui United Way, the Maui Chamber of Commerce and Boy Scouts.

Maui Memorial Medical Center, with 196 beds, is the island's only full-service, acute-care hospital.
