UH football team honored

The University of Hawai'i football team received recognition from the American Football Coaches Association for graduating at least 70 percent or more of its football players from the freshman class of 1998-'99.
Hawai'i was one of 27 institutions receiving honorable mention accolades, along with fellow Western Athletic Conference member Rice. Northwestern and Boston College received the AFCA's 2004 Academic Achievement Award for recording a 100 percent graduation rate.
Some of the freshmen in the 1998-'99 class included quarterback Shawn Withy-Allen, defensive back Sean Butts, wide receiver Craig Stutzmann and linebacker Matt Wright.
