Tonight's Must-See

"Friends," 7 p.m., NBC. Monica and Chandler are obsessing on being approved for adoption. The next step is to please a social worker played by Maria Pitillo of "Partners." Things go well until she recognizes their building: This was where she slept with a cad named Joey, who never phoned her. He shows up, of course, in some broadly hilarious scenes. In other plots, Rachel has an irrational fear of swing sets, and Phoebe keeps changing her mind about whether to have a cheap wedding and give the money to charity.

Of Note

"North Shore," 7 p.m., Fox. If you missed Monday's debut, catch this quick rerun. Set at a hotel in Hawai'i, the show is filled with gorgeous scenery and beautiful people. The surprise is that it also has solid writing and a good cast, led by Kristoffer Polaha and Brooke Burns. In the opener, he entertains a publicity savvy tennis star and a lifeguard (Corey Sevier) tries to elude a 15-year-old bikini beauty.

"Come to Papa," 7:30 p.m., NBC. John O'Hurley, who played J. Peterman on "Seinfeld," guest stars as a rich guy who's being interviewed by Tom. When he chokes, there are repercussions.

"Will & Grace," 8 p.m., NBC. Here is a variation on using dog- walking as a dating tool. Will pushes his mom (Blythe Danner) in her wheelchair, so he can meet a handsome chap, played by Dylan McDermott. Also, this rerun shows us when Karen first met Lester, played by John Cleese.

"CSI: Crime Scene Investigation," 8 p.m., CBS. Grissom does some quick self-analysis, when working on the case of a dead woman who looks a lot like Sara.

"Frontline: The Plea," 9 p.m., PBS. Ofra Bikel has spent years doing documentaries about cases in which someone may have been wrongly convicted. Now she tackles a broader question: Is the plea-bargaining system used as a mallet, to get innocent people to confess?

"ER," 9 p.m., NBC. This reruns the episode in which Carter returned to Chicago with his fiance, a beautiful African doctor played by Thandie Newton.

"Without a Trace," 9 p.m., CBS. A female bounty hunter disappears after a shoot out.
