Hawai'i juniors earn Callaway event berths

Thirty-six Hawai'i golfers qualified for the Callaway Junior World Championships in San Diego at Sunday's Hawai'i State Junior Golf Association's event at Maui.
The 15- to 17-year-olds played on Kapalua's Village Course, while the 7- to 12-year-olds played on Ka'anapali South.
The San Diego event will be July 13 through 16.
Travis Toyama took medalist honors in the boys 15-17 division with a two-day even par, 140. Kamehameha Schools senior-to-be Mari Chun topped the girls 15-17 group at 147, seven strokes ahead of second-place finisher Miki Ueoka.
T.J. Kua (boys 13-14), Ayaka Kaneko (girls 13-14), Bradley Shigezawa (boys 11-12), Kimberly Kim (girls 11-12), Christian Yagi (boys 9-10), Cyd Okino (girls 9-10), Skye Inakoshi (boys 7-8) and Alexandra Kaui (girls 7-8) also took medalist honors in their respective divisions.
