A 20-year-old Kailua man who is accused of stabbing his mother and his aunt and setting them and his family home on fire April 5 was indicted by an O'ahu grand jury yesterday on one count of first-degree murder, two counts of second-degree murder and one count of criminal property damage.
Kerry White, 48, Micah White's mother, suffered stab wounds to the front of her neck and twice to the left side of the chest and burns over 80 percent of her body. She died April 29.
Kerry White died two weeks after her sister-in-law, Sharon White, 58, died from injuries suffered in the attack and fire.
Before Kerry White died, Micah White had been ordered to stand trial on a single count of second-degree murder following a preliminary hearing April 14 in District Court. Yesterday's grand jury indictment supersedes the earlier court action in his case.
At the request of city Deputy Prosecutor Richard Stacey, Circuit Judge Richard Perkins increased bail for Micah White from $300,000 to $1 million.
