Miss Hawai'i title to Olena Rubin

Miss West O'ahu Olena Rubin was crowned Miss Hawai'i 2004 at the annual pageant last night at the Hilton Hawaiian Village Coral Ballroom.

Rubin, 23, will represent the state at the Miss America pageant Sept. 18 in Atlantic City, N.J. Rubin, a 1998 graduate of Kapa'a High School on Kaua'i, also won last night's swimsuit and talent contests.

Rubin is a speech communications major at Hawai'i Pacific University and tutors English writing at HPU. She also works at Alan Wong's restaurant.

First runner-up was Miss Honolulu Amber Stone, second runner-up Miss Island Ilima Lyanna Tumaneng, third runner-up Miss Island O'ahu Liana Green, and fourth runner-up Miss Leeward Malika Dudley.
