Killed moped rider identified
The medical examiner's office yesterday identified a moped rider killed in a hit-and-run collision on Nimitz Highway and Richards Street Tuesday as Grayson Gray, 31, of Waikiki.
Gray was traveling toward Waikiki on Nimitz at about 12:20 a.m. when his blue moped collided with a Dodge van that was allegedly making an illegal left turn.
The van sped off without helping the injured man.
Ala Moana work will slow traffic
The left diamondhead lane of Ala Moana Boulevard between Pi'ikoi Street and Atkinson Drive will be closed from Monday to Friday between 8:30 a.m. and 3 p.m. for traffic-signal repairs.
Charges filed in carjacking
Authorities charged 40-year-old Kese Togia in connection with a Wednesday night carjacking in Waimalu.
Togia, who has no permanent address, was charged with second-degree robbery. Police said he stole a Ford sport-utility vehicle from a 22-year-old man and later crashed it into a garage at 98-895 Ka'ahele St. in Newtown.
Togia was being held in lieu of $35,000 bail.
