The Japan/Hawaii Cultural Art Exchange Program will accept oil and watercolor painting, prints, ceramics and sculptures for the second annual exchange exhibition scheduled for Oct. 17-22 at the Blaisdell Center. Cinema Paradise accepting preview films in VHS format in a variety of categories including dramatic, documentary and animation which were completed in or after January 2003 for the September festival. The State Foundation on Culture and the Arts, Art in Public Places is soliciting new two-dimensional works (at least 30 by 40 inches) from artists residing in Hawai'i on the theme "Reflecting Hawai'i." Honolulu Japanese Chamber of Commerce announces a call for new art works for the 26th annual "Commitment to Excellence" exhibition planned for Aug. 17-27.
