Services for 'Auntie Martha'

A memorial service for AUNTIE MARTHA POEPOE HOHU, 97, of Honolulu will be held at 6:30 p.m. Thursday at Kaumakapili Church, with visitation from 4 to 6 p.m.

A musician known for her work on three successive collections of Hawaiian hymns, Hohu died June 12. Born in Honolulu, she served as choir director of Kaumakapili Church for 67 years. She is survived by daughter, Leila Kiaha; nine grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and six great-great-grandsons.

Lei are welcome at the service. A private family inurnment will be held Friday. Nu'uanu Memorial Park & Mortuary is in charge of arrangements.
