Kahumoku trial postponed

The misdemeanor assault trial of former University of Hawai'i volleyball All-American Lily Kahumoku scheduled for today at District Court has been postponed until sometime in September.

The complainant, José José Delgado, is in Puerto Rico and unavailable to appear, the prosecutor's office said.

Kahumoku, who will be 23 tomorrow, waived her right to a jury trial in May and will be tried by a state judge.

She is accused of assaulting Delgado, a UH men's volleyball player, between 12:30 a.m. and 12:45 a.m. April 9 at an Ala Moana apartment.


Missing woman found

Kimberly "Desiree" Marshall of Waipahu was found today near the Institute for Human Services.

A 26-year-old Waipahu woman who had been missing since Monday was found today, police said. Kimberly "Desiree" Marshall, who becomes confused or disoriented without daily medication, was reported found by the Institute for Human Services in the early afternoon, police spokeswoman Michelle Yu said.

Marshall had been last seen getting into a cab near the Pagoda Hotel shortly after midnight Monday after having dinner with her father. Detectives were sent to IHS today to check on Marshall's condition.


4 robbers take cash from 2, flee

Two 19-year-old men told police they were robbed early today of cash and other items at the corner of Makaloa and Ke'eaumoku streets by four men, one of whom had a gun and another a butterfly knife.

The robbery was reported to police at 12:30 a.m. The robbery victims were not injured. The robbers, who drove off in a blue-green Toyota, are still at large, police said.


Downed pole closes lanes

Two eastbound lanes of Kamehameha Highway near McGrew Point in 'Aiea Kai were closed to traffic today because of a downed streetlight pole. The downed pole was reported at 9 a.m.

No outages were reported to Hawaiian Electric Co.
