ISLAND LIFE SHORTS
Be glad we're not in Cleveland

Advertiser Staff

Take a chill pill, Cleveland. Or learn a few things from laid-back Honolulu.

Men's Health magazine rated stress levels of 101 U.S. cities. The results, in the July/August issue, show Cleveland the most stressed out, earning an F. Other pressure cookers include Detroit and Las Vegas. Earning an A-plus were San Diego and Madison, Wis. Honolulu got an A-minus.

Factors: Housing density, commute times, and numbers on smoking, unemployment and suicides.

Local celebs get national play

We're not saying the story lines are up to speed on Fox's "North Shore" yet, but there is a game you can play while watching the series on Monday nights. Call it "Find the local."

The producers seem intent on bringing in local celebrities for cameos. On Monday, KITV sports anchor Robert Kekaula made a brief appearance.

Last week, comedian Andy Bumatai stopped by. Others are popping in as well. So even if you're not a fan of Jason (Kristoffer Polaha) and the rest of the not-so-local gang, check out who's going to pop up next and get with the water-cooler talk.

The J.Lo marriage ghoul pool

So this is how low Jennifer Lopez has fallen: Bookies are taking odds on how long her marriage to Marc Anthony will last. The online gaming service www.mybookie.com is offering the newlyweds $100,000 if they can stay hitched for 18 months.

If J.Lo and Anthony make it to Dec. 31, 2005, the service will donate $100,000 to the couple's designated charity.

"We wish them only the best — we're big fans of hers!" said Jimmy Mason, site director. "But given J.Lo's turbulent history in the relationship department, and the massive response from players betting that they won't even make it one year, we decided to offer the challenge."

A marriage pep talk from a bookie? Ouch.
