Online honor for Advertiser
Advertiser Staff
The Honolulu Advertiser has received one of seven national Presstime Magazine Best Practices Awards for its online distribution of news headlines.
Presstime is a publication of the Newspaper Association of America, an organization representing the newspaper industry and more than 2,000 papers in the United States and Canada.
The Advertiser's online staff was honored for its use of technology known as Rich Site Summary to automatically update story headlines appearing on other Web sites, including the University of Hawai'i student portal and travel site Hawaii.com.
Advertiser online content manager Chris Kanemura accepted the award at the NAA Newspaper Technology Exhibition & Conference in Washington, D.C.
