Hilo's Kevin Hayashi shot a 2-over-par 74 yesterday to drop in a five-way tie for 10th place in the 37th PGA Club Professional Championship at Nashport, Ohio.

Hayashi has a three-round total of 3-under 213. Ko'olau Golf Club's John Lynch (77—222) dropped into a tie for 66th.

The top 25 finishers in this $450,000 tournament qualify for the 86th PGA Championship in August.

Jeff Coston shot 70 to lead by two strokes with 204.

Hayashi, a teaching pro at the Mauna Kea Resort on the Big Island, had four birdies and four bogeys to remain at even par through 15 holes yesterday. But he double-bogeyed the par-5, 527-yard 16th hole to drop back.

Lynch had one birdie and six bogeys in his 5-over-par round.
