MELVYN MORIO HAMAMOTO, 85, of 'Aiea, formerly of Hilo, Hawai'i, died June 5, 2004. Born in Kealia, Kaua'i. Retired state Department of Accounting and General Services painter; and member of 442nd Regimental Combat Team, 522nd Field Artillery Battalion, Service Battery. Survived by wife, Sumie "Sue"; son, Gregg; daughter,Marilyn Tamamoto; four grandchildren; one great-granddaughter; brother, Shinichi.
