Aquino to attend fund-raiser

Former Philippines president Corazon Aquino will be the guest of honor at "An International Affair," the annual dinner of the East-West Center Foundation, set for 6 p.m. July 14 at the Hilton Hawaiian Village Coral Ballroom.
The event will begin with a silent auction, followed by dinner and the program at 7 p.m.
Proceeds from the auction will benefit student scholarships to the East-West Center.
Individual seats cost $150; 10-person tables are available for $1,500-$10,000.
Attire is international dress or business attire.

Aquino served as president between 1986 and 1992, her term beginning 2› years after the assassination of her husband, Benigno Aquino. She will receive the center's Asia Pacific Community Building Award in recognition of her achievements at the helm of a democratic revolution ending the dictatorship of Ferdinand Marcos in the Philippines.
