Man indicted in Waipahu slaying

An O'ahu grand jury yesterday indicted a 29-year-old man on one count of second-degree murder in the June 15 stabbing of another man in Waipahu.
Airino Asarin is accused of stabbing S.T. Salle, 26, with a kitchen knife in a Waipahu Street apartment. Police said Salle was stabbed in the chest and killed during a confrontation between Asarin and his estranged wife, Vivian.
Asarin also was indicted for attempted murder after prosecutors said he tried to kill his wife.
His bail was set at $100,000.
Also yesterday, the grand jury indicted Ryan Vaughn on sexual assault and other counts. Bail was set at $150,000.
Vaughn is accused of sexually assaulting a 14-year-old boy June 22. He also is charged with attempting to sexually assault a 16-year-old boy June 14 in an Ala Moana Shopping Center restroom. Vaughn also is accused of threatening a victim and taking at least $50.
