BYUH's Chrisman honored a fifth time

Brigham Young-Hawai'i junior forward Jake Chrisman has been named Pacific West Conference Player of the Week for the fifth time this season.
Chrisman led the Seasiders to three wins last week including an 80-62 win over second-place UH-Hilo that clinched the conference title for BYU-Hawai'i.
Chrisman, from Provo, Utah, scored 83 points in three games this past week for a 27.7 average. He scored 24 in the title-clinching win on Tuesday and grabbed a career-high-matching 12 rebounds. He followed that with 30 points in an 84-72 loss to UH-Hilo and 29 in an 88-71 road win over Chaminade.
Chrisman moved into first place in the conference in scoring with a 22.6 points per game average and is tenth in rebounds (5.4 rpg) and second in field-goal percentage (58.4).
BYUH finishes its regular season at home against Hawai'i Pacific on Friday. The Seasiders have clinched a berth in the NCAA Division II West Regional.
BASEBALL
UCLA sweeps UH-Hilo: Hector Ambriz hit a two-run homer in the first inning and Mike Svetlic had a two-run double in a six-run ninth in UCLA's 12-1 victory over Hawai'i-Hilo in a college baseball game at Simmons Field in Kailua, Kona, yesterday.
UCLA (9-3) swept a four-game series with the Vulcans (4-18).
Five Bruins pitchers combined on a seven-hitter. Starter Wes Whisler earned his first victory of the season, allowing a run, four hits, striking out seven and walking one in six innings.
The Vulcans scored their run in the sixth inning when Daniel Rhodes doubled and came home on a double by Sean Tamura.
Rhodes and Kaliko Oligo each had two hits for the Vulcans.
TENNIS
Lajola featured: 'Aiea's Dennis Lajola, who finished third in last month's boys 18 USTA National Open Championships, was selected the USTA Junior Player of the Week.
Lajola, 15, finished the tournament with a 6-3, 6-2 victory over top-seeded Jonathan Tragardh, 17, at Central O'ahu Regional Park.
