Property tax credits available

Homeowners 55 years and older may qualify for new partial credits off their real property taxes for 2004-2005.

Eligible applicants must meet several qualifications, including having a multiple (senior citizen) home exemption for the 2004-2005 tax year and household income that does not exceed $26,100. Deadline to apply for the new Real Property Tax Relief Program is May 1.

Partial real property tax refunds are also available to eligible seniors for 2003-2004. Similar qualifications are in effect for the refunds.

Application forms for the credits and refunds are available at Honolulu Hale, Room 115, and at satellite city halls. For more information, call 523-4856.



New titles for Maui executives

The board of directors of Maui Land & Pineapple Co. Inc. yesterday added chairman to the titles held by David Cole. Cole will continue as president and CEO.

Warren Suzuki, currently a vice president, was promoted to senior vice president and put in charge of the company's community relations and communications functions. Suzuki will continue to oversee land and water policies.
