D.K. Kodama, chef-owner of Sansei Seafood Restaurant & Sushi Bar and Vino restaurants, will appear on NBC's Today Show on Sunday.

Kodama will teach Lester Holt and Campbell Brown — hosts of Today's weekend edition — how to make sushi.

The show airs in Hawai'i from 5 to 6 a.m. on KHNL; Kodama's segment will be sometime between 5:30 and 6 a.m.

Pull up for java

Drive-through coffee bars are a common sight on the Mainland but haven't been much seen here. Now It's a Beautiful Day Kafe , 2740 E. Manoa Road (across from Aveda and next to Boston's North End Pizza), allows you to get your java buzz without leaving the car.

The café offers Tully's brand coffees, as well as teas, pastries and desserts. There also is an outdoor covered lounge area that seats 25 patrons. Hours are 6 a.m. to 9 p.m. weekdays and 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. weekends. Information: 542-9330.

Amigo dines free

Compadres Bar & Grill is distributing certificates to customers that entitle them to bring their "amigo" to the restaurant for lunch at no cost, with the purchase of every full-priced entrée.

It's part of Compadres' 20th anniversary celebration, in which the restaurant is giving away $1 million worth of food through Dec. 15. Information: 591-8307.

U.S. markets added

Kona Brewing Co., Hawai'i's largest brewery, has introduced its product line to several Mainland markets.

In October, the company began distribution in Arizona. In January, Oregon and Northern California were added, and in February, the product was introduced in Washington state. This is in addition to current distribution throughout Hawai'i, Southern California and Japan.

Two of Kona Brewing's flagship beers are being distributed in the U.S. Mainland markets: Fire Rock Pale Ale and Longboard Lager.
