Services today for girl, 5, who died in flooding

Services for Charlotte Paige Schaefers, the 5-year-old girl who died in Saturday's flooding at the Navy's Pearl City Peninsula housing area, will be held today at Our Lady of Good Counsel Church in Pearl City.

Visitation is from 10 a.m. to noon; services will follow.

Charlotte was born in St. Mary's, Ga., and was a student at Our Lady of Good Counsel School.

In lieu of flowers, donations are preferred to a scholarship fund to be set up in her name by the family at the school.

Charlotte is survived by her parents, Scott and Allison; brother, Joshua; grandparents, Pamela Smrekar and Barbara and Daniel Schaefers; and great-grandmothers Treva Ryan and Carlotta LoCurto.

Arrangements are by Borthwick Mortuary.
