Tonight's Must-See

"SpongeBob Goes Prehistoric," 7:30 p.m., Nickelodeon, wrapping up a "SpongeBob SquarePants" marathon that starts at 5:30 p.m. Here is "SpongeBob" at its best in an episode rippling with off-center wit. We're back in caveman days with characters then called SpongeGar, Patar and Squog. With no real language — just gibberish — they struggle through their day. It's quite a day, what with discovering such things as fire, cooking, danger, marshmallow sticks, envy and theft. Even without words, there are hilarious moments.

Of Note

"Joan of Arcadia," 7 p.m., CBS. In this rerun, God tells Joan to look for signs that someone is having trouble. She ends up helping a woman by baby-sitting for her son.

"The George Lopez Show," 7 p.m., ABC. Max is in trouble in this rerun after forging a signature to keep his parents from seeing a note from his teacher.

"Hope & Faith," 8 p.m., ABC. Hope (Faith Ford) is accepted for jury duty. Faith (Kelly Ripa) isn't — a fact that makes her furious.

"Third Watch," 9 p.m., NBC. This wraps up the two-parter in which a psychiatrist (Susan Dey) tries to get at the emotions behind the firehouse rampage. There are also big problems on the police side: Cruz's cohort has been slain, and she's convinced that Bosco's bad-news brother is responsible. Now Bosco desperately tries to find him before Cruz takes vengeance.
