Advertiser Staff

Tyleen Tausaga went 3 for 4 with three RBIs, and Shannon Tabion pitched a three-hit shutout to lead Hawai'i to an 8-0 victory over Siena College at Rainbow Wahine Softball Stadium yesterday.

In last night's late game, Long Beach State defeated UH, 4-1.

The Rainbow Wahine are 12-11 overall, 3-1 in the Kipa Aloha Malihini Tournament. Siena (N.Y.) is 0-6, 0-4, and Long Beach State 14-4, 4-0.

Tabion struck out four and walked none in a game shortened to five innings because of the tournament's 8-run differential rule.

UH scored a run in the seventh inning against Long Beach State, but left runners on second and third when the game ended.

The Rainbow Wahine play Southern Illinois at noon today.

UH-Hilo goes 2-1: The University of Hawai'i-Hilo softball team swept a doubleheader from Notre Dame de Namur after losing a game completed yesterday after it was suspended by darkness on Thursday.

In the first game of the doubleheader, Sarah Steele pitched a one-hit shutout to lead UHH to a 1-0 victory. Natalie Fujimoto singled, then later scored on a grounder and error in the second inning.

In the second game, three Argonaut errors allowed the Vulcans to score two runs in the fifth in a 2-1 victory.
