FRESNO, Calif. — Cassidy Blaine's 3-pointer from the corner with 6.3 seconds remaining gave Boise State a 59-56 victory over the University of Hawai'i women’s basketball team in a play-in game of the Western Athletic Conference Tournament today at the Save Mart Center.

Hawai'i’s April Atuaia hit a 3-pointer to tie the game at 56 just 17 seconds prior to Blaine’s game-winner.

The Rainbow Wahine completed their season at 8-20 in Vince Goo’s final game after 17 years as head coach.

Boise State improved to 9-19, and advanced to tomorrow’s quarterfinals against No. 1 seed Louisiana Tech.

Hawai'i attempted a school record 31 3-pointers in the game, but made only nine for 29 percent.

Hawai'i was 6 of 23 from 3-point range in the first half alone. A 3-pointer by Abele gave the Rainbow Wahine a 28-24 advantage at intermission.

Hawai'i increased the lead to 37-30, but the Broncos responded with an 11-2 run to take a 41-39 lead with 9:10 remaining. The rest of the game went back and forth, with neither team ever leading by more than three.

Hawai'i played the final 3:31 without starting center Brittany Grice and starting power forward Abele. They fouled out of the game within 12 seconds of each other.

Janevia Taylor led Hawai'i with 18 points, including four 3-pointers. Abele added 14 points and nine rebounds.

Michelle Hessing led the Broncos with 16 points, while Nadia Begay added 13.
