Kahuku, Farrington highlight Mililani basketball tournament

Kahuku and Farrington, two semifinalists from last year's state tournament, highlight the inaugural Mililani Lady Trojans basketball tournament set for Thursday through Saturday.
Opening day action has Kahuku vs. Leilehua at 3 p.m., followed by Kaiser vs. Kamehameha (Division II) at 4:30, Pearl City vs. Farrington at 6 and Mililani vs. Waimea at 7:30.
Semifinal and consolation bracket games will be played Friday, with the championship, third place, fifth place and seventh place games set for Saturday.
Waimea baseball tourney: Four-time defending O'ahu Interscholastic Association champion Kailua will travel to Kaua'i for the Waimea High Invitational, Thursday to Saturday.
Also in the field are Kaua'i, Kapa'a, Wai'anae, Mid-Pacific and Leilehua.
In Thursday's opening round, Kapa'a will play Wai'anae at noon at Hanapepe Ball Park with Mid-Pacific to face Leilehua at 2:30 p.m. Also at 2:30 p.m., Kaua'i will meet Kailua at Waimea High. The host Menehune have a first-round bye.
The winners advance to semifinals on Friday with the championship set for Saturday.
