A fugitive who has eluded federal and local law enforcement officers for nearly six months was captured last night in 'Ewa Beach.

Police, U.S. Marshal’s Service deputies and agents from the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco & Firearms arrested Silver Jose Galindo, 35, at 91-2240 Fort Weaver Road at 8:10 p.m. on outstanding state warrants for auto theft, possession of a stolen gun and parole revocation.

A 39-year-old man also was arrested on suspicion of first-degree hindering prosecution. A woman, 44, and man, 43, also were arrested on outstanding warrants.

Galindo was indicted in September 2003 and an arrest warrant was issued the same month.

The indictment stems from a Sept. 9, 2003, arrest in the parking lot of Gold Coin Bakery at 1833 N. King St. Galindo allegedly was asleep in a stolen car. Police also found a stolen pistol.

"The urgency to get Silver Galindo increased as time went on when more information was derived about the

intensity of his drug use and his access and propensity toward serious weapons," said detective Letha DeCaires, the Honolulu Police Department’s CrimeStoppers coordinator.
