A wee late for St. Patrick's Day: Flogging Molly, billed as the "greatest Irish punk band in the United States," rolls in for a concert at 7 p.m. April 9 at Pipeline Café. Isle ska fave Go Jimmy Go opens. Tickets — $16 advance ($20 at the door) — go on sale today at Pipeline, the UH-Manoa Campus Center, Cheapo Music at Puck's Alley, Jelly's in Pearl City, Hungry Ear in Kailua, online at www.808 shows.com and at Unity Crayons events.

The Big 3-0: The Japanese superhero Kikaida celebrates his 30th anniversary in Hawai'i with appearances that coincide with the release of volume 7 in the "Kikaida" DVD series. The release date is March 23; autograph sessions, with Kikaida and friends, including actor Ban Daisuke, are 3:30-5 p.m. March 26 at Shirokiya; 12:30-1:30 p.m. March 27 at Blockbuster in Pearl City; and 12:30-1:30 p.m. April 3 at Blockbuster Kane'ohe. The stores will offer free balloons and Kikaida coloring books while supplies last.

Blues bands go at it: It's another Battle of the Blues Bands, April 3 at Anna Bannanas, featuring Amber Blue and the Middle Street Merge at 8 p.m.; Oopso Facto at 9:30 p.m.; and Someone Else at 11 p.m. The winning band will be announced that night and will play a victory set at about 12:30 a.m. There'll be food from Kevin's Two Boots, prizes, dancing and a whole lot of music. Admission is $7 general, $5 for Hawai'i Public Radio members. 955-8821.
