Waipahu wins O'ahu AJA title

Advertiser Staff

After 21 runs weren't enough to win the first game, Waipahu blitzed Sheridan, 18-4, in a winner-take-all final of the O'ahu AJA Baseball League Championship Tournament yesterday at Ala Wai field.

Timo Donahue had four hits and three RBIs for Waipahu, which scored 13 runs in the second inning to win the title in a game abbreviated to seven innings because of a 10-run rule.

Kyle Kawabata had four hits and five RBIs as Sheridan won the first game, 24-21.

Waipahu will represent O'ahu in the State AJA Tournament, April 3 and 4, on Maui.
