Campaign case leads to arrest

Advertiser Staff

Larry K. Matsuo, former chief executive officer and president of Park Engineering, was arrested yesterday by Honolulu police on suspicion of making illegal political campaign contributions.

Matsuo, 77, surrendered to police and was booked at HPD’s headquarters building at 9:38 a.m. He was booked on suspicion of money laundering and false money contributions, and released without charges.

Matsuo’s arrest is the latest in an ongoing investigation into illegal contributions to Mayor Jeremy Harris.
