Hawaiian plans pension payment

Hawaiian Airlines said yesterday it will pay $4 million into its pilots' pension plan, although the airline remains behind in payments.

The Air Line Pilots Association and Hawaiian agreed to delay a hearing on further pension payments until the end of June. This is the third time the pilots have agreed to postpone the hearing.

Hawaiian Airlines also said yesterday that it led the nation's carriers in the amount of its airplane seats occupied in February with 83 percent filled.


Orientation set for job-seekers

The Wai'anae Weed and Seed committee will hold an orientation Sunday for job hunters interested in construction work. Representatives from the building industry and Leeward Community College-Wai'anae will explain what jobs are available and how to enter the field.

The free orientation will be held at the Wai'anae Coast Comprehensive Health Center Dining Pavilion from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m.
