Hawai'i-based bounty hunter Duane "Dog" Chapman launches filming of his A&E series today at his downtown office and in Waimanalo.
The series, tentatively titled "Dog the Bounty Hunter," co-stars Chapman and Beth Smith, his partner-companion.
"I'm very excited to finally start on it," Chapman said.
Ozzy Osbourne, who has been in town taping his own MTV reality show, will write and perform the theme song, Chapman said.
Hybrid Films will shoot 12 half-hour shows, scheduled for back-to-back hour-long slots on A&E in late July.
Filming will move to Kailua, Kona on the Big Island, then on to Colorado, Las Vegas and California.
Smith said the show has lined up 12 to 15 cases that the bounty hunter hopes to crack.
