Boy questioned in vandalism

Police investigating last weekend's vandalism at BayView Golf Park in Kane'ohe on Tuesday questioned a 15-year-old boy.

Since Monday, investigators have questioned three boys. Police suspect at least five people broke into a storage barn and took 19 golf carts onto the course, heavily damaging all of them.

The break-in occurred sometime between 1 a.m. and 5 a.m. Sunday.

Investigators believe the group had been partying earlier and are trying to determine a location.

The golf course vandalism happened shortly after a separate break-in at Castle High School.

The two cases appear connected because a golf cart stolen from Castle was found in the cart barn at the Bayview course.

Anyone with information is asked to contact Det. John McCarthy of the Windward O'ahu burglary/theft unit at 262-6555 or CrimeStoppers at 955-8300 or *CRIME on a cellular phone.
