Stations of Cross erected on campus
Advertiser Staff
Saint Louis School is creating its journey of Christ's passion with its annual Stations of the Cross, erected Ash Wednesday.
The school's maintenance crew constructed the 14 large crosses that are placed around the campus.
At each station, in Roman Catholic tradition, a prayer is said. Visitors are asked to stop at the office to obtain a pass before doing the stations and to pick up a brochure that includes the prayers.
The 14 stations are: Jesus is condemned to death; Jesus accepts his cross; Jesus falls the first time; Jesus meets his sorrowful mother; Simon of Cyrene helps Jesus carry the cross; Veronica wipes the face of Jesus; Jesus falls the second time; Jesus speaks to the women; Jesus falls the third time; Jesus is stripped of his garments; Jesus is nailed to the cross; Jesus dies on the cross; Jesus is taken down from the cross; Jesus is placed in the tomb.

Baha'i celebrating start of new year
The National Spiritual Assembly of the Baha'i of the Hawaiian Islands will begin the celebration of their new year today.
The celebration coincides with the first day of the first month of the Iranian solar year. The first day of the new year is Naw-Ruz, called "the Day of God" by the Bab. It's one of the nine holy days the Baha'i observe, spending the day in prayer, at family gatherings and giving gifts.
The Honolulu Baha'i will host a free dinner at 6:45 tonight at Kapi'olani Community College in the dining room of the 'Ohi'a Building. In 'Ewa, there will be a free family train ride and picnic 10:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. tomorrow at the historic Hawaiian Railway Museum 'Ewa Station.
