76th annual Honolulu Printmakers Exhibition, Toom Wegner juries this exhibit of prints by local artists, opens with a reception 5-7 p.m. Wednesday, through April 11; Academy Art Center at Linekona; free. 536-5507.

"Larger than they, smaller than I," photographs by Arolo Valera and Hyeyoung Kim, opens Thursday with an opening reception 6-8 p.m. Saturday, workspace; exhibit continues through April 25. 732-2300.

"Local Heroes," photographic portraits by Stan P. Cox II of Islanders who work to make Hawai'i and the world a better place through local charities, Thursday through March 29; third level, makai-side, Ala Moana Center. "European Modernism, 1860-1930," color lithographs, etchings and woodcuts from the Honolulu Academy of Arts' collection will complement the impressionist exhibit opening in April, opens Thursday, through June 20; at the art museum's Graphic Arts Gallery. 532-8701.
