Champions were crowned for boxers from ages 8 to 16. The 15-16 age division champions qualify for the National Junior Olympic Championships at Brownsville, Texas, in June.
All boxers receive lodging and meals with a $400 stipend, usually used toward travel expenses.
This is the second title for Jumawan, who won last year at 132. Eiichi Jumawan, who will be 47 on Saturday, won national titles in 1975 (119 pounds) and 1978 (125).
"He's bigger, better, and better looking," said Eiichi Jumawan, who coaches his son along with the Pearlside Boxing Club.
"He's a real good coach actually," said Jumawan, who has been boxing since 7 with a goal to eventually turn pro.
"I was just amazed when I saw my dad do it so I thought I'd try it out," said Jumawan, who has seen his father train and box on film.
