Tonight's Must-See

Basketball; 11 a.m. and about 2 p.m., CBS. These are big games that will determine next weekend's final four in the NCAA tournament, from Phoenix and from East Rutherford, N.J. The other two games are Sunday. Then we have six days to fret.

"Nashville Star," 10 p.m., USA Network. In many ways, this is the competition's most interesting night. It's when the finalists do songs they wrote themselves. That's something "American Idol" doesn't require.

Of Note

"A Knight's Tale" (2001), 7 p.m., NBC. In an early scene — with a jousting tournament being handled like a rock video — this film promises to be truly wonderful. The rest, alas, is merely average. Heath Ledger stars as a squire disguised as a nobleman. Mark Addy ("Still Standing") is his friend and Shannyn Sossamon is the beautiful princess he hopes to impress.

"What a Girl Wants" (2003), 6 p.m., HBO, and "The Amanda Show," 7:30 p.m., Nickelodeon. At 17, Amanda Bynes is a terrific actress who can rescue so-so material. This movie is an average comedy about an American teenager who learns her father is an upper-class Englishman; Bynes and Colin Firth manage to keep us entertained. She's done the same on her Nickelodeon sketch show and on WB's "What I Like About You."

"The Price is Right Million-Dollar Spectacular," 8 p.m., CBS. This time, the studio audience will be filled with college students.

"The District," 9 p.m., CBS. A community decides to battle back outside the legal system by fighting crime on its own.

"Saturday Night Live," 10:30 p.m., NBC. Megan Mullally hosts, with Clay Aiken as the musical guest.
