Anne Kamalapuaikehaulani Alama, formerly of Honolulu, now of Las Vegas, daughter of David and Aileen Alama of Wai'anae and Judi and Rodney Kwock of Reno, Nev., and Steven Nelson Carpenter, formerly of Athens, Greece, now of Las Vegas, son of Clarke and Anna Carpenter of Las Vegas, announce their engagement. The couple plan to marry on Sept. 10 in Lake Tahoe, Nev.

Larissa Kalena Alcosiba, daughter of Lawrence and Karen Alcosiba of 'Ewa Beach, and Bryson Kiyoshi Kawatomari, son of Mary Kawatomari of Waipahu and the late Yoshio Kawatomari, announce their engagement. The couple plan to marry on April 3 in Honolulu.

Arthur and Dorothy Loo of Lihu'e, Kaua'i celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary on Jan. 17 at a luncheon at the Kauai Marriott hosted by their three children and seven grandchildren. The Loos were married on Feb. 27, 1954. (pictured)
